Short Film Face Off is back for its 18th season!

 

This national television series is made up of 4 one-hour episodes that showcase emerging filmmakers from across Canada.

 

Each season, nine short films are chosen from submissions from every region in the country and are broadcast on the program. Two short videos from each of the nine filmmakers are shown - the first video introduces the filmmaker; the second video introduces their short film.

The host holds the show together. She explains what the show is about, introduces the filmmakers and the panelists, and shares her own reactions to the films. Three expert panelists provide commentary and analyses of the films.
 

Broadcast nationally on the CBC network and GEM, the series provides a high-profile platform to increase audience awareness of these young filmmakers.
