AMANDA PARRIS
Amanda Parris is a writer, tv host and producer. She is the host and showrunner of the critically acclaimed documentary series For the Culture with Amanda Parris and the creator and showrunner of the award winning comedy series Revenge of the Black Best Friend. She’s won four Canadian Screen Awards for her hosting, writing and television producing. Her published theatre play, "Other Side of the Game" was awarded the 2019 Governor General’s Literary Award for Drama. Amanda has won several awards for her efforts to call out and disrupt systemic racism in the Canadian media community including the ACTRA Sandi Ross Award, the Social Justice Award from the Urban Alliance on Race Relations and the inaugural Changemaker Award from the Canadian Screen Awards. Over the years Amanda has become a much sought after moderator and interviewer, known for her compelling long-form conversations with some of the most innovative cultural leaders of our time including Spike Lee, Roxane Gay, Wesley Morris, Steve McQueen, Esi Edugyan, Mahershala Ali, Lena Waithe, Halle Berry, Misty Copeland and dream hampton.

MAGALI SIMARD
Magali Simard is the Director of Industry and Community Relations at Cinespace Studios Toronto, Ontario’s largest film and television production hub. She oversees industry relations, government affairs, brand deployment and has launched CineCares, Cinespace’s workforce training program. She is a Board Member of FilmOntario, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, The Canadian Film Centre and the City of Toronto’s Film Advisory Board. She is the former Film Sector Development Officer for the City of Toronto and was a lead curator at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for eleven years. She is a recurrent guest speaker and columnist in Canadian media and at industry events.
